So busy! So exhausting.
Amanda started substitute teaching last week. So far, it's going pretty good with driving her, at least it's local. And she will pay for gas when I need her to, so that is all good. Tomorrow she is subbing at the high school she went to. Hopefully she will see some friendly familiar faces.
The bike thing is going ok with H for now. I am not sure what will happen when the weather turns colder. Time will tell I guess.
Eddie got his permit to drive Friday. Ken took him today and said Eddie made him nervous. It was kind of funny. It was Eddie's first time driving though. He kept him in an industrial park (or whatever they call it), they are quiet on the weekends. Hopefully it will get better with time.
Zachary is not liking school this year. Every night home work. :( It sucks. He has to read every night for 20 minutes and then respond with 5 sentences. Then he has spelling words, math and studying for tests. Those aren't all everyday, but they add to the daily home work pile. Such a pita! Oh I miss 3rd grade! He doesn't mind the reading, it's the response. It can't be just a summary, it has to be done in one of the ways she told them to do it.
Anyway, school is going well for me. I do worry about the stress coming at the end of the semester, but it will come, ready or not!
Ken's sister is getting married in two weeks! It should be a fun party. Ken is in the wedding, but I am not. I'm ok with that, I'm not one for being the center of attention. Ken's sister liked the dress I wore to the anniversary party and she said I should wear it to the wedding, so I just need some shoes. I hope to do something with my nails. I don't know what to do though. Some of them are so short, I keep breaking them, darn it.
Ken fixed my brakes last weekend. I'm so happy about that, they were really bad.
Anyway, I'm rambling and I'm tired. Take care and thanks for stopping by.

Ah, the Halloween stuff has barely begun and it's getting to the boy already. :(
Did I mention there's a new social worker at his school. We haven't heard anything yet. I will have to ask if I don't hear back soon.
His ear infection is just about all cleared up. I'm glad about that.
I was talking to the big boy this morning and it went well. He does want to take those classes now! I am so happy about that. Even if he does nothing with it, at least he will have a goal to work toward. :) The classes are at the south campus but he can take the bus down there. It just has one switch and it's at a mall. He'd do fine with it all I'm sure. :) It will pick him up just outside the park here and drop him off across the street from the college. What more could he ask for? :)
I am so tired! Hopefully Z and I will both sleep well tonight. He got me up at 5:30! Ugh!
Anyway, that's all for today. :) Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Well...
Could have been worse! I got an 81% on my first early childhood test. Not as bad as I feared, so that is good. She did say a lot of people wouldn't do well on it and we can drop our lowest score. Hopefully that is my lowest score, but if it's not, it's one to fall back on if I totally mess one up.
No Psych test Tuesday. Yeah! :) He gave us two weeks off from tests. Just have to summerize a chapter and a half and he really isn't asking for much at all. :)
Turned in my first paper in English. He didn't correct them yet, so I wait until maybe Monday to see how that went.
Rocky isn't doing well with everyone going off to school. Poor baby. Oh well, for now he's got Amanda. ;) She's supposed to start subbing soon, but it's early in the year and she wanted to give it a little time. Fine with us. I run enough for now. She wants to learn to drive again, but she says she won't drive the minivans, it is all we own.
My Hanna. Worried about her. She's my joy, the shadow of me. By that I mean my carbon copy. She couldn't be more like me, except she's smarter. I asked her if she wants to help me spend a little of my financial aid money. She needs some jeans pretty badly. We shall see if she turns me down or not. I still feel bad we weren't able to get her into those apartments. And not just because driving her is exhausting, I think it would make her happy and I want her happy. We shall see what her future holds.
Zachary had another ear infection. He actually hadn't had one for about a year, so that is good. It had him up Monday night, but he wakes during allergy season a lot with a sore ear, just from pressure. So, usually, a dose of motrin and he's good to go. The next morning I asked him if his ear hurt and he said no. I sent him to school. Ugh! I pick him up everyday and I'm usually early, so it surprised me when I was texting with my sister about my Mom to find the secretary knocking on my car window with a tearful Zachary. I took him right to the doctor and he had a bad ear infection. I let him stay home yesterday so I could give him pain medicine. He went today, not happy, but he went. ;)
Eddie, my boy, so lost in what he wants to do. He wants to get into making movies and things like that, but as a Mom I want him to do something safer, more reliable. I wish something would appeal to him. He's young, I know, but he truly only has one more year before he should figure that out. Either that or just get a job while he figures it out.
Just venting. Not looking for advice. Take care. :)

My Mommy
Tuesday my Mommy is having surgery. She is having a hysterectomy. They are hoping it helps with her bladder issues. I truly hope so.
I wish I could be there. I'm glad my two sisters can be there with her. I will be in psych class myself. I'm glad we don't have a test this week, that is what I'd think about instead of psychology.
I can't believe tomorrow is Monday. Ugh!
I can't believe the Lions lost that game today, they were robbed!
OK, the boys about out, so I will go too. :)

Since Christina asked....
A couple of stories the first psych teacher "shared."
I don't believe him on any of these. I think he just does it to get the kids attention. I am not a kid.
1. When he was a young man, oh about 18, he was helping in a psych ward. They would strip all the clothes off the people that were acting crazy so they were naked. Then they'd hold them down and give them a shot of something to calm them. One really crazy woman was fighting them so bad her bones and joints were all popping and breaking. She broke a whole bunch of bones.
Yeah, right!
2. There was a young man he'd been counseling. This young man liked to cut his own intestines out and play with them. He did it in the back of a police car one time with his hand cuffs.
Um, yeah, right!
3. He was counseling another young man. He said one day he was coming into the building where he usually saw this young man, the young man said to him, "I've had impure thoughts." He unzipped his pants, took out a knife and cut his own penis off.
Oh brother!
Did I mention he has a one of kind degree? He is a spiritual psychologist.
He said more, a lot of it made no sense. None at all.

Week 3
Finally over. It's been so busy!
Hanna needed rides to and from a couple of days this week. How exhausting! She did figure out if she takes the bus to the first stop, takes a bike with her, she can bike faster than the bus transfers can get her there. Besides that, she has the bike with her and there's no mix up of getting on the wrong buses. She just needs the weather to cooperate.
I had a test in Early Childhood last night. I did not do great on it. I'm not sure what I got on it. There were so many things to memorize in chapter one and she really didn't clue us in on what to zero in on. I can't remember an entire chapter word for word. Hopefully they won't all be that hard and hopefully my grade isn't as bad as I'm dreading. English is going well. He's moving slow and that is good for me in many ways.
Eddie, Hanna and I are all off today. Amanda isn't subbing yet, but Ken will probably drop her off when she does start, I hope! So, we are all home today, just Z is at school and Ken at work. I am going to make some chocolate chip cookies. I haven't made cookies since starting this whole eating better things. I have discovered I can have a cookie, not ten. If I want one. The want isn't so strong anymore.
I'm doing well. I'm exhausted but mentally I'm doing so much better. Hopefully this trend will keep moving forward for me.
It is a new beginning for me. :)

September...
Wow.
School starts for Zachary on Tuesday. He has his bag all packed except for his lunch. I wish it was a half day for him, but then again, I'm in school then, so it works out good that it's a whole day for him. We went last week and found out who his teacher is. They had the upstairs blocked off so I couldn't show him where to go if he didn't walk in with his class. I talked to the principal and she took us up in the elevator and showed him where his classroom is. He felt a little better after that. His teacher should be outside on Tuesday to take them all up at once, so that will be good.
School for me was exhausting again. Part of it was the stress of switching Psychology classes. Part of it was the Camp Rock show. The live show. Hanna won tickets from Office Max for retweeting something they had posted. She got two relatively good seats to the show. So, we talked Zachary into going. He was a little unsure, but by that evening he was feeling brave enough to go. Ken went with me to drive them up there (it's almost an hour away) and we sat in the car and chatted and ate snacks while they went in and saw the show. We got home around 11:30. Zachary was asleep by midnight thanks to the melatonin. Still loving that stuff!
Speaking of that stuff, I'm wondering if the school year will go better if he's sleeping better. The amount of times he's been up in the night has been minimal, which is great.
So, fingers crossed Tuesday goes well for both of us. I have my first college Psych test and he has his first day of 4th grade.
4th grade. I can't get over it. He's threatening to be Batman for Halloween and go trick or treating. He's a little obsessed with Lego Batman, but it's an obsession I welcome. If only they still made the toys. Lego said if there's enough interest they might make them again in two years. Anyway, he plays the video game and watches the old Batman show from the 60's. :) So, maybe Batman for Halloween. :)
Take care! Thanks for stopping by!!

The First Week
In a word, Overwhelming.
Monday and Wednesday I had English from 10 to noon. He is great! He's taking things slow which is good for me. I need slow right now. He also doesn't usually keep us that long, which is also good.
Tuesday I had the nightmare Psychology class. That went from 10 to 2 with one five minute break. He was a nut case. If you would like to hear a story or two of his tell me, I will share. It was enough to make me break down and cry in the adviser's office when he suggested I ride it out. When I told him what the teacher had said, he said "Nope, we will get you out of there now." Phew! Thank goodness. I don't know what next Tuesday holds for me, but I know it's a new teacher and that's better than the old one. There is no way it will be worse.
Wednesday I had my observation class that is a co-requisite for my Early Childhood class. It's a one credit class that they want too much for, but I will do it and complain later, if I remember. ;)
Thursday I had the Early Childhood class. It's supposed to go with the above mentioned class. They say they go together, but both teachers said different things as far as the observing go. One said you are only there to observe, the other said you have to get in there and help. Anyway, it went well and she let us out early. It's supposed to go from 5:25 to 9:25. I hope she never keeps us that late. ;)
What I don't like about the observation thing is I have to find my own place to go. Oh brother! And the hoops they want us to jump through! And they think we can start all this in a week. Schools don't even open for two more weeks here. Whatever. I'm glad my schedule is open enough that I can get my hours in. I will have to make some phone calls and start getting things done on Monday.
So, for homework, so far is all reading. It looks like quite a bit, so I will just have to chip away at it. :) I emailed the new psychology teacher, but he has yet to email me back. If he's older, he might not do email.
Tomorrow, Zachary and I are off clothes shopping. I'm dreading it. The boy is tall and skinny. Last year he fit in a 10 slim in the Lee brand. Now they are just a bit snug, but still long enough. I don't think regular 10's will fit him. We tried a pair on him today in another brand and even with the adjustable waist, they were way too big! He just needs a few shirts and some jeans. And if we happen across any, some shorts! He wouldn't pick any out in the spring and now well, it's all fall stuff out. As far as school supplies go, he just needs some pink erasers. :)
Hard to believe summer is coming to a close. We have kept ourselves busy and Zachary has had a lot of fun. We just didn't get to the Science place we wanted to take him to. We just never seemed to have enough money for it. We will try though. It will cost more in gas than anything to go there.
That's about all for now. Thanks for stopping in! :)

Oh dear me...
Psychology did not go well today.
I hope to switch it, but I don't know if I can.
I don't think I will pass with a high enough grade if I can't.
Not to mention he wants us to do two presentations in front of the classroom. I don't think I can do that.
Julie <----> Not a public speaker in any way shape or form.
And honestly, that's not the worst part of it all.
But I'm tired and it's been a day, so I will leave it at that. Going to go in after English tomorrow and see what I can do.
